Empty Spaces (Working Title)

Empty Spaces is an interactive, narrative-driven virtual reality experience which places the player in 1933 as a resident of a New York city tenament complex. The environment was modelled based on floor plans and archived photos from the NY Tenement Dept. (provided by the New York Public Library Digital Collections). Some spacial concessions were made to account for playability and narrative direction. The story unravels as you navagate the space and interact with objects which carry emotional meaning to your character. Those memories take life by temporarily transforming the environment through surreal sound and imagery.

The piece is still in development by Ali Yassin and Brian Graham.
