Nora

For Advanced Digital Animation (for more info, click here), I was tasking with writing and pitching concepts for an animation. One of my story pitches was titled Nora. The titular character would be an embodiment of the wind who was given a fleeting moment to interact with the world. I described her as being ethereal; the audience could see her but her form conveyed she could not be seen directly by other characters. As she swept through the cobblestone streets of a storybook European village, she sought recognition. Communicating indirectly by running her fingers through wind chimes she hoped to give herself presence. She hoped to find someone who could see her without seeing her.

At the time, I lacked a clear understanding of how her appearance would be accomplished in a rendered 3D animation. Returning to the idea with new knowledge, I hope to develop materials and effects which capture my vision for the character.
